Founded in 1980 as The Racquet Club, RQ49 has been a community landmark in the heart of Sukhumvit 49 from the very beginning. What started as a private sports club had one simple goal — to give people in the neighborhood a place to meet, move, and build real friendships together.
Over 40 years later, RQ49 has grown into a lifestyle destination that brings everything you need under one roof. Whether you're a family looking for a place to stay active together, a group of friends meeting up for a meal or a coffee catch-up, or a professional who needs a workspace that's central but actually feels good to be in — there's something here for everyone.
From a sports club and fitness facilities, cafés and restaurants, co-working and office spaces, to quiet corners where the city's noise feels genuinely far away — all without having to get in the car.

OUR STORY
A.D.
1972
Start from small beginning
Before Sukhumvit 49 became known, this area was open farmland with dirt roads. Amorn and Rabiab Bhumiratana began by developing rental homes on family land, and later built a shared swimming pool for residents. No grand plan - only a simple intention: to give people in the neighborhood a place to swim, exercise, and spend time together. That became the first swimming pool in the area.
